Author Bio

Sofia Gutman is a filmmaker from Jerusalem, living and working in Paris. Sofia has graduated from Bezalel academy of arts and design In Jerusalem. During a student exchange program Sofia studied at the School of Decorative Arts (ENSAD Paris). Sofia’s new film Villages perdus has been selected for the residency of La Maison des auteurs, La cité de BD Angoulême. It is produced by The HIVE Studio. Sofia’s short film Passing Lights have received the Plume de Cristal prize in the Valence festival of script writers. It has been pre-bought by France television.

Sofia’s film AUTUMN was selected to a dozen of international film festival and took part in the poetic selection of festival Ciné Poéme. Sofia’s graduation film was selected to a couple of dozens of festivals and received the rising star award in Canada’s international film festival.Sofia worked on several films for enterprises such as UNESCO Paris, The Cité of Science and Industry museum in Paris, Clarion France and several others. Sofia have worked as a traditional 2D animator and Back ground artist on several films, working with Les Valseurs productions, Novanima productions et Les films de l’Arlequin.
